Yeah, the only Bible ever burnt en masse was the King James and its Antiochian text line predecessors.
I did however burn my old NIV Teen Study bible about three years ago. I had already come to the truth of the AV, but this relic from my youth was still hiding in a bookshelf somewhere. Once I found it, along with the NIV my supposedly Christian high-school gave me upon graduation, I burned them on my back balcony and threw the remains in the trash. Here's an alarming expose on the additional perversions of the Teen Study NIV, over and beyond the perversion of the actual NIV text: http://www.biblebelievers.com/watkin.../teen-niv.html It would have been awesome to sneak up to their bus and crazy-glue a bumper sticker with Matthew 12:38-40 on it. |

A heaping pile is a good description alright.
My Ex-pastor had tryed to convince me to get away from my KJB and go with an NIV(what else would you expect?)so he gave me an NIV student bible, needless to say,it won't burn,so it ended up in a landfill. More importantly though, the amount of energy expended in a corrupt version, just for the sake of profit. The ones who produce these bibles don't care about truth and its getting more obvious that people don't either. II Timothy 4 v 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. |
