Default Baptist view on blood transfusion

Somebody asked me this question: "What is the Baptists' view on the issue of blood transfusion?"

Everyone has a problem with their blood

But medically, yep, there is no problem with it. You aren't eating it or drinking it. The life of the flesh is in the blood.

That "somebody" wouldn't happen to be a Watchtower Witness, would it?

Trust a cult to translate "eating blood" (Leviticus 17:12) into 'thou shalt not have a blood transfusion'. I wonder how many JW's have died because of this false doctrine? Also, I understand in recent years the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society has received 'extra revelation' regarding this doctrine, now blood substitutes ARE allowed to be used in cases that are life threatening.

No, she was one of our young people who were given this topic as school assignment in nursing.
