I remember when we moved back to Hanalei, the boys were accepted by the locals because the were "the boys from that Mahor girl who married the Haole". Even after 50 years Dad is still an outsider! It is only getting worse, and from what I see it "ain't gonna get betta".

As a tourist, I never noticed that, but then we (tourist's) never get that opportunity to co-mingle with the local's unless you get away from the tourist trap, which in hindsight I wish we would have done that.
