Amen I appreciate brother George's posts (he must have some good eyes to distinguish all the HTML tags from the text!).

I also appreciate SwordSearcher. Much better than E-sword

Aloha brother,

From the late 1960's to the late 1990's our family's favorite past time was hiking and camping. In the course of 50 years I hiked every single river on the Island of Kauai (some to the source). Close to 40% of the island consists of a a very inhospitable area called the Alakai swamp (elevation 1,500 - 4,000 feet); my family and I explored and crossed the "Alakai" at least 50 times or more (sometimes camping for up to 2 weeks at a time with six kids and my wife and I.)

In 1961 my wife and I spent our honeymoon in Kalalau Valley - a remote valley on the island accessible only by boat or an 11 mile trail along cliff edges, etc. I miss doing those things, but with the family scattered to the four winds and me getting older, I haven't really hiked in years.

Brother George!

Being out in God's Creation is definitely a great time...sounds like you're out there in Hawaii or the Pacific? Lucky you...Being here in Connecticut we have a lot of camping and mountains for hiking...but Maine is my true passion...God's Country.

Mt. Katahdin is a true blessing...I love it in Maine.

Welcome to you brother Cloudwalker!

I joined last May - so I am relatively new here also. I have found George's posts to be of enormous benefit for my growing in grace and knowledge. Have you checked out his website yet? He has numerous helpful articles there also.

Looking forward to reading your posts.

Hey, brother! Nice to see you here.
My first impression was you're a fan of David Cloud and David Walker.

By the way, Dr. Laurence Vance's The Other Side of Calvinism is my favorite book on that subject.\

Actually, I haven't listened to David Cloud much...I think one sermon on the KJB.

David Walker on the other hand...never heard of him.

As far as Dr. Vance's book, I might have to check it out someday...he wouldn't be trying to persuade me to reformed theology by any chance, would he?

Aloha brother,

Thanks for the pics! My dad used to go to Maine for the Trout and Salmon fishing. He said it was gorgeous, and by the pictures it certainly looks so.

I was born in Middletown, Connecticut and lived in various towns there (Cromwell, Deep River, North Guilford, and Middletown). I left Connecticut in December, 1957 (Navy) and have never returned.

I lived in Hawaii (mostly on the the Island of Kauai) from 1958 to December, 2008 when my wife and I moved to Oklahoma to be with some of our family and to escape the high cost of living in the very Liberal (dare I say - SOCIALIST) State of Hawaii.

I have been enjoying your Posts - keep em coming!
