Does anybody have Peter Ruckman's commentary on Revelation?
Hi. I was hoping to see Rev. 20:10-15

I have it, brother. Let me get it out for you. Can you tell me specifically what you want to know because there are so many comments and references on these 5 verses.

Great. I'd just like to see verse 14.

Revelation 20:14 "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death."
This is the end of "sheol." This is the end of "Abraham's Bosom." This is the end of all intermediate states; it is probably also the end of all physical death. "This is the second death." Notice that He didn't say "second resurrection." He said, "This is the first resurrection" in Rev. 20:5, so technically, Rev 20:11-15 is not a resurrection. We teach two resurrections because to all practical purposes, the two judgments are separated by 1,000 years. The second resurrection is not a "resurrection" in the sense that dead people are "raised up out of their graves" and "caught up" to a position. Heaven and earth are blasted away, and there are the sinners already in position. |

Thanks a lot! I was confused as to what that verse meant, but it makes sense now.

Rev 20:5 DOES indicate a resurrection of the dead... lived not again until Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.
