Go, and Sin No More
John 8:3-11
3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more." KJV These verses are such a blessing to me. I don't really even need to comment on them. These verses are just amazing. Praise our Holy and Forgiving God! Sometimes we make it a habit of pointing out other peoples' sins when we need to be looking at our own. We need to realize that when we get to the Judgment Seat of Christ(2 Corinthians 5:10), we won't be taking account of anybody sins, but our own. Lets pray for those who break God's Law and try betting ourselves by submitting to God daily. James 4:7 "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." KJV Brothers and Sisters, lets "go, and sin no more." |

A "classic" question:
What did Jesus write on the ground? |

Deut 22:22. If the woman was to be stoned, where was the man? Because he must be stoned also according to that verse.

Interesting that it's the only record of Jesus writing anything. Unless there's an original letter of His at the Vatican .
Sad that modern versions actually remove this passage, like it was a margin note accidently added to the text or something. I can't read Hebrew or Greek so I can't tell you what He wrote . Last edited by Jeff; 03-28-2008 at 12:40 AM. |

There is a link between dust and the sin of the woman: see Numbers 5:14-17.
