I completely understand where you come from regarding the things we get shown. I too get those particular verses where The Holy Spirit says, whoahh back up and re-read and learn that verse it will come in useful sometime soon. And without fail something will be happening in my life and that particular verse I was called back on illuminates my understanding. I always have a pen and notepad beside me when I read my Bible and sometimes I end up with 6-7 pages regarding a particular subject I have been studying. I find myself overjoyed at the things I find, I find myself humbled, I find myself in Tears sometimes, But most of all I find myself getting to know my Saviour better
.Personally I cannot stress how important it is to write scripture down on paper with your own hand in regards to understanding, especially in the age of copy and paste. To pen a verse gives more time to understand it while its being written. My thoughts anyways.
