Very true Tom, I have often thought of Mat. 7:21-23 as one of the most frightening passages in the Bible, because it describes very religious people who are doing good deeds and actually THINK they are saved. Clearly, they are trusting their "many wonderful works," only in the end to be told in vs. 23:
"I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
How horrible and sad to see people so totally deceived, blinded by the god of this world.

"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." 2 Corinthians 4:3-4
