rom 5:

It is by his efficasious death that we [ the elect] recieve its blessings..
To recieve is to have been effectually given..
jn 1:
16And
of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
Jesus christ gives of his fullness to his elect , his body, his church..
also john says this about recieving...
jn 3:
27John answered and said,
A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
