A Study in Scarlet
Vendetta Ride:--- You mentioned "A Study in Scarlet". I was also going to mention that one, because the story is soooo negative concerning the LDS Mormons of 1800's Utah.
I'm often surprised that mormon missionaries haven't visited every public library, and taken a razor blade to that section of the book. They really hate "bad press".
Another book that I'll bet many L.D.S. wish had never been written/published was "Riders of the Purple Sage". The setting is in southern Utah.
