I'd just like to add that as humanism has been progressively wiping out Christianity, the pagan religions that Christianity had originally supplanted have been returning. Secular (materialist) humanism rejects all supernaturalism (see the first paragraph of Humanist Manifesto III), so it rejects any sort of spirit world, but its success in elevating man to his own god now allows for demonic influence in a pernicious form fit for the advent of the Antichrist himself.
