If someone wants to recommend a man's books or writings - that's one thing. But when we continually extol this MAN or that MAN, we are NOT following the Apostle Paul's example:

It is because the overwhelming majority of "believers" today lack a genuine deep abiding love for, and intimate growing knowledge of, the very person of the Lord Jesus Christ. They are "
carnal" as a result of being a "
babe"
in Christ.
"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen" (2 Peter 3:18).
We should be:
"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:2).
