Most people do not know that Palestine, or the Palestinians is neither a country or people, but rather a geographical area. Jesus was not a Palestinian, as the name "Palestine" did not exist until centuries after Christ. The name came from the Roman Emperor Hadrian who named the area "Provincia Syria Palaestina", later shortened to Palestina.

And most do not know that the term Palestinians originally meant Jews, not Arabs or Muslims.

It was Britain that drew up the political boundaries of the Middle East just after WWI. Originally, the Palestine Mandate gave land south to Egypt and Saudi Arabia, north to Syria, and eastward to Iraq to the "Palestinians" which meant the Jews. This would have included the modern country of Jordan. After much protest, Britain gave approximately 22% of the land for the Jews, which was on the west side of the Jordan River. The remaining approximately 78% was given to the Arab Palestinians on the eastern side of the Jordan. This was called "Trans-Jordan", now simply called Jordan. This agreement was signed by all 61 members of the League of Nations, and later by the United Nations as well. So both Israel and Jordan are nations by international law. In fact, Jordan officially became a nation 2 years before Israel.

So, the Palestinians (Arab Palestinians) already have a homeland and have since 1946.

Here are the original borders of the Palestine Mandate.
