Wow. Somebody I've never heard of says the MT doesn't make since. I just looked at the MT Greek (although it's on my computer so I didn't have to walk 12 feet like you made me do for Edersheim) and it says
shall take away his share/portion (meros) from the tree of life. I seem to recall something about a similar tree in Eden....
