Amen to that. I was thinking Paul gives us a clue when he wrote, "
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;..." (Philippians 3:10).
We get a glimpse into Paul's heart when he wrote earlier in his letter, "For to me
to live is Christ, and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21).
I once heard someone say, "For me to live is Christ, to die is more Christ." To me the prize is not my achievements or the praises of men, it's
knowing Christ.
He wrapped it up by declaring, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" (Philippians 4:13). I know he was speaking of temporal provision in this particular verse, however, this is one of those instances where a broad application is appropriate. I can,
through Christ! The prize? Jesus Christ. knowing Him. Abiding in His presence.
