They were two separate events
One was creation
One was where Adam saw God make the animals himself ( not all just one of each), and then Adam named them.

I used to use it but now I have learned that if you just have a King James Bible without notes or commentary it is best. If not, the notes will lead you away from what the Bible is actually saying.
