pray for my dad

Please pray for my dad, William, or Bill, he was taken to the hospital
today in an ambulance, for chest pains.
He's about 80 years old. Pray for his salvation, too.

God bless you as you pray.

Bro. Parrish 05-21-2009 08:41 PM

Okay, will do brother...
I know that is a difficult thing to see a parent suffering.
It sounds like your Dad has had a long life, I hope I can make it that far.
Maybe you could witness to him if he is able to hear it, or have a pastor visit him in the hospital or maybe drop a Gospel tract by his bedside.
God bless...

He was not seen immediately, last night, he waited about 2 hours! That tells me it wasn't anything terribly urgent. He has been moved to a room, and from what I hear, he will call
his lady friend this morning. So, that's that, for now.
I wonder what it feels like to be so close to seeing God?
I will talk to him, soon, about that.

Jassy 05-22-2009 09:42 AM

I'm praying for you dad, sister, especially for his salvation.
God knows the heart of your dad.
How is he doing today?

Praying...almost lost my mom last year. She is saved - was 72 when it all happened....actually that she lived through what she did is a miracle. ..that's another thread though. ...;)

It is troubling on so many levels when one almost loses a parent. Maybe this can be a "wake up" call for him, and might open another door that He might receive the gospel. I pray for his salvation and your peace my friend. My heart and prayers are with you sister. How is he today? How are YOU?

biblereader 05-22-2009 01:49 PM

here's an update:
more of an update, I just talked to him:
He's not in icu
He says he feels pretty good his gall bladder is inflamed, might be removed,
the doctors are concerned about his heart, they say it could have been
a heart attack, they are testing him now, many tests, might inject dye into him to trace what's going on,
look for clots or blockage.
has 3 or 4 doctors, and he says he doesn't remember their names.
Please pray that the doctors find out EXACTLY what is wrong with him, and they only give him the meds he needs.

Many thanks, Beth. I can feel your genuine concern. The fellowship of believers in here is almost palpable.
I'm a little shaken up, and feeling kind of sad.

Will someone, anyone, remind me to check the "yes, I want an email notification"?
I've been running in circles here.

Biblereader, I will pray for your Dad, my father passed away just this February, he was two weeks short of being 81, so I know the stress and anguish you are going through. I will pray that he recovers well, but most importantly that he receives Jesus as his saviour.

This I will do. I was in a car wreck in 1975, and in it my gall bladder was crushed and ruptured.

None of the doctors knew it.

Last summer I started having pain and problems and had it out in Oct. Gall bladder removal is done on an outpatient basis now, so it won;t be that hard a surgery. His heart health is most important.

I don't have either of my parents, Dad died in 1983 and Mom went in 2002. Mom was Dad's third wife, they were together for 33 years, I was born rather late in life for him. Dad would be 100 years old this July.

Grace and peace sister.

Tony

Thanks for the prayers.
My dad says he's checking himself out of the hospital today,
whether or not the doctor signs release forms.

Winman, my father passed away very recently also. He was 79.

Biblereader, sis - I am very glad that your Dad is out of the hospital and doing better now.

I'm a sister in Christ:pray2:

I took several tracts and left them on his bedside table for him.
He thanked me.

Well, we shall see. He goes in for a stress test today. I had one of those, they gave me shots of radioactive isotopes, in my arm, made me run real fast on a treadmill, then I laid down on a little table, while some machine took pictures of my innards.
Stress tests will show any blockage or buildup.

That's what I heard!! Goodness! Insurance companies sure are greedy.
I wonder if there will be a judgement for those insurance companies who refused to pay for valid claims? The love of money is the root of evil.

another small prayer request, and I didn't want to start up a whole new topic, just for this:

please pray for me. I get headaches, sometimes 3 days long, and before they happen, I get a flash, a small pinpoint, really, of light, in my vision area. I just got a flash, now.
Ive been to doctors and an optometrist, and they can't find the reason for these headaches.
Thanks.
Have a good Sunday.

T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.

Lord, thank You for loyal, loving friends
Who are there in winter or springtime fair.
New acquaintances are easy to come by,
But true friendship is extremely rare.
A friend always sees the best in you,
Although they've known you at your worst.
They laugh with you in the good times,
When storms threaten, they'll be there first.

They'll offer a shoulder to rest your head
When tears are welling in your eyes.
Take a walk down friendship's path with you
And help chase away those stormy skies.

Lord, thank You for all the gifts You give;
Each one makes our life seem more worthwhile.
But one of the finest gifts you've given us
Is the warmth of friendship's loving smile

Thoughts and prayers, Biblereader. Your poem was a blessing to me, along with several of your other posts. :)

Shalom,
Tandi
