Presidential election

I take a small passing interest in the presidential race. This election season just leave me not being so sure just who to vote for. I'm thinking maybe there's someone here who take more of an interest or pay more attention to what's going on more than I do. The obvious ones I cannot see myself votin for are Obama and Clinton of course... At thetme McCain seems to be in the front as far as Republican ticket goes. Does anyone know his stance as far as Isreal goes?

Please share what you know about any candidate whether they be democrat or republican or independents or one of the other third parties that are out there so that I can be more informed when November comes. I don't care if they talk smooth or look good, give me the issues...

Unfortunately, until Jesus Christ is on the ballot, we are forced to vote for the lesser of two evils. We must keep Clinton out, she is evil, it's that simple. So we may be forced with Mccain or Obama. Research the best of those two, find out who is the most Godly, and cast your vote. It's that simple. However, prayer is powerful, start praying NOW for the best and most Godly candidate to lead our country,,,,according to God's will.

timothy 02-08-2008 06:35 AM

It's pretty obvious that unless Jesus Christ is on the ballot, we'd have to vote for the lesser of two evils. (He won't even be on the ballot, He'd just take over!)

In any case, I can't even cast a vote for Obama, even over Hillary, with a clear conscience. If it comes down to between those two, I'd write in Goofy. It's a shame that Mitt Romney is out, because I just started thinking that I could vote for him. I'd hate to say it but it does looks like it would be McCain for me, if Ron paul doesn't pick up some. Ron Paul I agree with the most on the views, Huckabee is kind of iffy for me...

Graceismine 02-09-2008 01:18 AM

Of course I don't vote in it even though the outcome affects the world, and my country too.

Could Obama be a Muslim sleeper? From the news we are getting it is difficult to know who is running Mr or Mrs C and you've already had him.

20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:

He sets up Presidents and rulers in this day and time also. His purpose will be done and he will set up who he chooses.

Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

King Cyrus thought he was doing his own will when he ordered the temple to be rebuilt but the scriptures prove that he was doing God's will.

Isa 44:28 That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.

1 ¶ Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

God only has free will to do and say what will happen in this present time and he takes councel from no man. This world will stand only as long as he wills it.

There is great comfort in that to all who believe the truth.

For those that want to vote for Obama (I hope I'm allowed to copy and paste something on this site) need to read this:

Barack Obama's Very Controversial Pastor & Spiritual Advisor
http://www.raidersnewsnetwork.com/full.php?news=12573

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Barack Obama’s friend and pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, said in a 2003 church publication, "In the 21st century, white America got a wake-up call after 9/11. White America and the Western world came to realize that people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just 'disappeared,' as the Great White West kept on its merry way of ignoring Black concerns."

But Barack Obama says he is "proud" of Rev. Wright and values their 20-year-long friendship, even if they “don’t agree on everything.”

Wright, who performed Obama's marriage and baptized his daughters, is also his close spiritual advisor. Barack's 2004 keynote speech to the Democratic National Convention was based on a sermon by Wright called "Audacity to Hope," which also inspired Barack's book, "The Audacity of Hope."

In the November-December 2007 issue of Trumpet, their church’s publication, Rev. Wright praised Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who has described whites as "blue-eyed devils" and Jews as "bloodsuckers." In the magazine Wright wrote, "He brings a perspective that is helpful and honest...and will be remembered as one of the 20th and 21st century giants of the African-American religious experience. His integrity and honesty have secured him a place in history as one of the nation's most powerful critics…and a religious leader who is sincere about his faith and his purpose."

Farrakhan's photo is on the cover of that church magazine, accompanied with the headline: "The Minister truly epitomized greatness." Wright also presented Farrakhan with a "lifetime achievement" award during a church gala in Chicago, "For his commitment to truth, education and leadership."

Recently Obama distanced himself from Farrakhan, but not from his pastor or his praise for Farrakhan. Why not?

For the record, it was Farrakhan who said:

* "They call (Hezbollah) terrorists, I call them freedom fighters. No one asks why they would do such a thing. Why would they do such a thing? What has driven them to this point? That's what the UN, the U.S. and Europe doesn't want to deal with because the Zionists have control in England, in Europe, in the United States and around the world."

* "The white man is our mortal enemy, and we cannot accept him. I will fight to see that vicious beast go down into the lake of fire prepared for him from the beginning, that he never rise again to give any innocent black man, woman or child the hell that he has delighted in pouring on us for 400 years."

* "Hitler was a very great man. He wasn't great for me as a Black man but he was a great German and he rose Germany up from the ashes of her defeat by the united force of all of Europe and America after the first World War."

* "Now, that nation of Israel, never has had any peace in forty years and she will never have any peace because there can never be any peace structured on injustice, thievery, lying and deceit and using the name of God to shield your dirty religion under His holy and righteous name."

* "Do you know some of these satanic Jews have taken over BET?... Everything that we built, they have. The mind of Satan now is running the record industry, movie industry and television. And they make us look like we’re the murderers; we look like we’re the gangsters, but we’re punk stuff.”

* "This Koran says that the Jews have altered the word of God out of its place. They did not want the masters of the people to know what Jesus really said, what Moses really said, because then you wouldn't have a yardstick to measure their deviations."

* "The Jews don't like Farrakhan, so they call me Hitler. Well, that's a good name. Hitler was a very great man. He rose Germany up from the ashes."

Farrakhan also claims to have received revelations directly from God, and conferred with the dead Elijah Muhammed while "on a wheel that you call a UFO," about secret meetings of Ronald Reagan with his cabinet.

Farrakhan's views are not only anti-Semitic and racist, but his efforts have not been to integrate Black America into mainstream America, have not been to unite -- something Barack Obama claims he will do as President of the United States.

Clearly, such views are dangerous to be affiliated with on any level if you’re a candidate running for the President of the United States -- the President of all the people of the United States.

Do you think Hillary will use this information against Barack? Absolutely, if she thinks she needs to, and that it will help her win.

Interestingly, Obama took back his invitation for his pastor to pray at the launch of his campaign, apparently fearing controversy from Wright's Afrocentric teachings, and many are wondering if he wins the presidency, will he ask his close spiritual advisor, Rev. Wright, to pray at his inauguration?

While emails questioning Obama's Muslim roots flood the world-wide-web, and he answers those by pointing out that he is a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, an Afrocentric church that preaches what the New York Times calls Black liberation theology, a good question to ask is why does he continue to affiliate with a church, a pastor, that honors Louis Farrakhan, a man who called Judaism "a gutter religion," the Pope an "Antichrist" and Adolf Hitler "a wickedly great man," and said that "White people are potential humans - they haven't evolved yet"?

For me a vote for Clinton or Obama is a vote against God Almighty, because they both are for same sex marriage and abortion. Christians must vote for God at all times.

IM4given 02-10-2008 03:23 PM

I do not believe there is such as thing as voting for the "lesser of two evils" - Clinton, Obama, and McCain are all evil and equally sinful in the eyes of God. There is only one true decent honorable Christian man with immpecable character and moral fortitude running in this race and the media all but ignore him and the evangelicals have spurned him. If he does not recieve the nomination, it will be because God has put His judgement on our our country and sealed our fates!

always in the battle 02-19-2008 06:28 PM

After further study, it's McCain all the way. I will reply again with my reasons why.

always in the battle 02-19-2008 06:37 PM

Your right, the world wants obama or clinton. McCain is on the narrow road that the world does not see. Our country is forgetting we are at war, and that there is no hope for the world without Christ. It boils my blood to hear someone say they will vote for those two. Even so.....

Why I Eyes Ya! 03-29-2008 05:20 PM

I've always lived in the U.K, but if Ron Paul gets in I'll be "over the pond" like a shot! Put the kettle on!!!:D

Paladin54 03-29-2008 06:46 PM

When I hear Ron Paul talk, he seems like a madman.....could you explain why you want him in?

Why I Eyes Ya! 04-03-2008 03:08 PM

Hi Paladin,
I guess that I don't really have any right to comment on who gets the presidency of the USA, being a Brit. That being said, I have been following events in the US quite closely. I know that here in the UK the various political parties (Conservative, 'New' Labour, and the Liberal Democrats) are either funded by- and therefore subject to- the interests of 'big business'. Now, I'm certainly no commie (ex-commie, by the Grace of God, to be precise), I fully believe in 'free enterprise', etc.
However, Ron Paul has been outspoken against the unrestrained influence of 'big business' and the international banking cartel. Neither was he a member of the deeply occultic 'skull and bones' (Bush/Kerry).
We have limited access here in the 'democratic' UK to fair nationwide media reporting (even the BBC- once a bastion of impartiality- is now a 'puppet' of the present government) and a majority of my information has come from independent U.S media via the internet.
So far, I've heard nothing from Ron Paul that causes concern.

That being said, I'd certainly be open to anything to the contrary. But I could be wrong- and will gladly admit so if this is the case.
What has Ron Paul said that makes him sound like a 'madman'?

Yours in Him,

Rob (W.I.E.Y)

Paladin54 04-03-2008 08:28 PM

I, on the other hand, cannot say that I have done extensive research.

While he has some great ideas, I saw a youtube video where he said that he would legalize prostitution and marajuana.

Debau 04-07-2008 07:31 PM

Hey Paladin,
You got a card that says Have Gun Will Travel?
Sorry, I couldn't help it...

I love it, that's hilarious.

Anything I should interpret subtly?

Absolutely nothing to forgive. lol

Why I Eyes Ya! 04-15-2008 02:13 AM

Hi Paladin,

Thanks for the insight; I'd not seen RP's views on dope and prostitution.

Anyway, I'm still aiming to come over for a cup of tea! :):p

All the candidates are for Amnesty. Obama sitting under Wrights rehtoric for 20 years,Clinton?don't know what she is.
I was shock to see John Hagee backing McCain. Maybe he is Pro-Israel? who knows.

tkg 05-18-2008 07:23 AM

As far as the election goes Obama will be the democratic nominee. The last numbers I saw, which was about 5 days ago, said that Clinton needed 72% of the rest of the votes and with what states are left, and thats not going to happen.

As far as McCain goes, well, I am more concerned with who his vice president would be with McCains age. But as for McCain himself, he is a very liberal person. First, regarding religion, McCain is no lover of Christians. Recall his comments about key religious leaders in 2000, calling them "agents of intolerance." And McCain's vitriolic vilification of Christians was not limited to a single occurrence, for he later said, "I must not and will not retract anything that I said in that speech at Virginia Beach. It was carefully crafted, it was carefully thought out." (Hardball, 3/1/00). Second, on the issue of gay marriage, in 2005 McCain opposed a federal gay-marriage ban (Los Angeles Times, 1/25/ and 3/8). Now, however, likely realizing that most Americans think otherwise, McCain says he supports a gay-marriage ban (Meet the Press, 4/2/06). Which is it?

McCains list of leftist liberalism goes on, but hes doing the thing all politicians do, lying. As long as he can convince you hes the more conservative out of the two, you will probably vote for him. Personally from all the research Ive done Obama seems more conservative then McCain.

Scary as far as Im concerned, makes me want to move to Canada....

Jeremy 05-20-2008 02:09 PM

I heard that Mike Huckabee may run for VP under Mccain.
Obama wants to use diplomacy to solve the problem with Iran wanting to eliminate Israel, Good Luck! Obama=Jimmy Carter

Mccain is the first Liberal Republican that i can remember. I don't see any of the candidates getting us out of the many Crisis that we are in.
Does any Christian out there see the correlation between the signs of the times and the many disasters, wars etc.. that is occuring?

Barack Obama – Muslim apostate?
By Shireen K. Burki Mon May 19, 4:00 AM ET

Stafford, Va. - Osama bin Laden must be chuckling in his safe house. After all, the 2008 campaign could very well give Al Qaeda the ultimate propaganda tool: President Barack Hussein Obama, Muslim apostate.

The fact that Senator Obama – the son of a Muslim father – insists he was never a Muslim before becoming Christian is irrelevant to bin Laden. In bin Laden's eyes, Obama is a murtad fitri, the worst type of apostate, because he was blessed by Allah to be born into the true faith of Islam.

There are two types of apostates according to sharia (Islamic law) and the Hadith (sayings of the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him).

The first type is murtad milli, one who converted to Islam and later renounced the faith. The second, and most egregious, type is murtad fitri. It refers to a person born of a Muslim father who renounces his birthright. Two recent examples of the latter are Magdi Allam (a male Egyptian who converted to Catholicism in Italy) and Ayaan Hirsi Ali (Somali-born woman who's now an atheist). Both now face death threats.

According to Islamic jurisprudence, children of a Muslim father – even an apparently nonpracticing one, such as Obama's father, and irrespective of the mother's faith – are automatically Muslims. Most Muslims around the world agree: A child of a Muslim father is a Muslim. Period.

Should Obama become US commander in chief, there is a strong likelihood that Al Qaeda's media arm, As-Sahab, will exploit his background to argue that an apostate is leading the global war on terror (read: attacks against fellow Muslims). This perception would be leveraged to galvanize sympathizers into action.

Remember: Al Qaeda's ultimate goal is to restore the caliphate (the Islamic form of government that would preside over the community of believers) and expand Dar al Islam ("Abode of Islam"). Reaching it requires a long war against all – Muslim and non-Muslim – who don't share its extremist Wahhabi worldview.

Al Qaeda, though, has struggled recently to recruit volunteers for this jihad. While bin Laden retains significant support as someone willing to stand up for Muslim concerns, most Muslims abhor Al Qaeda's terrorist methods whose primary targets are innocent noncombatants.

But an apostate as head of the United States could change this equation. It would be a propaganda boost for Al Qaeda's mission. All one has to do is read Al Qaeda's public statements to recognize how frequently it makes baseless apostasy accusations against fellow Muslims who challenge its message or actions.

That's why Obama is bin Laden's dream candidate.

Once branded as an apostate, President Obama would face enormous difficulties in the foreign policy realm, especially in the fight against terrorism.

He's caught between a rock and a hard place. If he softens the US strategy against Al Qaeda and its ideologues, his apostasy might be an afterthought for Al Qaeda. But if he acts firmly in America's national interest to defeat the terrorist threat, he'd be vilified in an Al Qaeda propaganda campaign for reneging on his "true identity."

Furthermore, his administration would struggle to positively engage the Muslim world, where Islam isn't just a religion, it's the way of life. Conservative Muslim populations that are riddled with poverty and low literacy rates can be more readily swayed to join the cause against the "Great Satan" (the US) if their imams and mullahs shout that it is led by an apostate.

Diplomacy is highly personal. The leaders of America's Middle Eastern allies – such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar – already feel besieged by jihadists and disgruntled citizens who see their governments as toadies of the West. The murtad card could intensify that pressure, so leaders of these countries might be compelled to distance themselves from Washington.

In short, an Obama presidency – which might be fine domestically – could have serious repercussions for US foreign interests at a time when it is especially vulnerable in a tight global oil market.

So far, Al Qaeda has been conspicuously quiet on Obama's candidacy. But that should not come as a surprise. Hoping Obama gets elected, they're probably waiting until he's taken the oath of office to begin branding him a traitor to the faith of his fathers.

Islamic terrorists know that the long road to success lies in stoking the "clash of civilizations." To reach their goal of restoring the Caliphate in a form that fits their worldview, they need massive numbers of Muslims to join their global jihad.

Bin Laden and his followers have already shown their willingness to exploit real or imagined religious schisms to expand their support base. So it's not hard to imagine bin Laden praying that Obama wins this November.

Shireen K. Burki is an adjunct professor of political science at the University of Mary Washington, in Fredericksburg, Va. The daughter of a Muslim father and a Christian mother, she spent her childhood in Islamabad, Pakistan, where she studied Islam at school.

God loves you!
