Your age range if you will?

Hello everyone,
I am curious to learn more about the ages of the membership here. Why? Certainly not scientific, but I'm wondering which age group has the most representation here.

One fear that I have is that the King James Bible is losing popularity among the younger adults, not to suggest for a moment this is a popularity contest.

After all, what do all modern versions need to remind us: oh yes, the modern version is so way, shape, or form is an "improvement" upon the King James.

If this is successful a poll will be produced.

Peace,
Harley

The first one to vote. Hi!

KJBPrincess 12-10-2008 12:19 AM

I voted. I'm in the 2nd category... 20 years old to be specific. Those fun teen years are over... :( hehe

stephanos 12-10-2008 01:27 AM

27 here. Oh, and I don't think the KJB is loosing support among the youth. I see quite a few young people on FaceBook that love the KJB. I think we'd see more growth if those of us who pass out tracts on the streets would carry tracts in defense of the KJB (or in offense against the alexandrian perversions) to give out to those who indicate they're Christians. Tabernacle Baptist Church has some great tracts (these are the ones that lead me to the KJB) which can be ordered here: http://www.tbaptist.com/pages/tract-cat.html#e Also, it would be nice to see more Bible Believers in general carrying these around and leaving them where folks who use other translations can find them (like slide them into their bibles when they're not looking). :D

Peace and Love,
Stephen

27 here, too!

Josh 12-10-2008 09:32 AM

I'm 22. There are plenty of young KJB people around my area!

Brother Tim 12-10-2008 10:21 AM

And representing the young side of the seasoned veterans, I'm approaching 57.

You seemed older to me and Tim seemed younger. :)

Re: "Age Range"

I seem to be the "old man from the mountain" (or more appropriately the "old curmudgeon" :p) - 68 years old {50 years old in the Lord}. :)

kittn1 12-10-2008 01:15 PM

I'm 40 :D

Cody1611 12-10-2008 02:09 PM

I'll be 20 on January 5th.

Rolando 12-10-2008 02:44 PM

I'm 22 years old. I been saved since around March this year (2008) and since the beginning have been an Authorized King James Version only Christian. As for young Christians supporting the Authorized version, my Church and the young people in it support it.

Jeremy 12-10-2008 03:26 PM

Just turned 39 a month ago, have been saved about 29 of those.:)
Yeah, i'm old.

JaeByrd 12-10-2008 04:26 PM

Can I just say older than most of you, but younger than the the old guys???:D

No, ma'am, you cannot. And the term "old guys" is age-ist and discriminatory. President Obama will not look kindly on such usages.....

I'm 59. That puts me nearly 40 years closer to Heaven than when I was saved at 19.......

:)

Harley 12-10-2008 05:02 PM

Age since *first* birth please

Opps, did I need to specify the age from your first birth rather than your spiritual birth?

:D

For me it doesn't matter, 39 years since first birth, 33 since second. Any way you look at it, when considering the Jewish culture (and many others) I've just now become an adult man.

Bill 12-10-2008 05:31 PM

Bill 54; Old enough to be "electronically challenged." It is encouraging to me to see that people quite a bit younger than me are determined to have God's infallible and inerrant communicaton to follow. It indicates that God is preserving his believers as well as his words.

Gord 12-10-2008 07:04 PM

I get to revote in 33 days, I change to a new bracket. :)

You whippersnapper!

I'm 48, and have been saved for eight years.

But I'm not as old as VR...
:D :p

You ain't seen nothin' yet, bubba.

:(

Between the ears, I sometimes feel like I'm 25 - - - or older than Methuselah. The human mind, even in its fallen state, is a remarkable thing - - - for good and for ill!

And I recently visited a Christian community that does not have a King James Bible position. And I was told that the youth have a greater affinity for the King James Bible, often understanding the Westcott-Hort manipulations, the significance of the strange textcrit theories, very well. Also appreciating the grandeur and majesty and purity of the King James Bible language. The youth tend to have less long-term Christian training and may see something like the Bible truth crisper and easier. (58 here.)

Shalom,
Steven

Yep, and that's exactly why we need to keep young people out of Cemetery. :D Nothing like a good bible college to kill a persons faith in The Bible.

Peace and Love,
Stephen

Doin' great at 48!

Old enough to remember when a US Postage stamp was 3 cents and was purple with the Statue of Liberty on it.

Old enough to remember TV being in black and white, and the male characters were manly and the females womanly.

Old enough to remember S & H Green Stamps. Gasoline stations on each corner of an intersection---> and "Gas Wars" between the stations...( and a set of drinking glasses with a Fill-up! :) )

Old enough to remember when there were Christmas plays/skits at school and Christmas carols (not winter solstice/Santa songs) were sung. We took a week off from school for Easter Vacation---not Spring Break.

Old enough to remember that only drunken sailors got tattoed, and that men didn't wear women's jewelry or wore their hair like a woman.

Biblestudent 12-15-2008 06:40 AM

You're, indeed, "old enough"! Were you born in 1789?:tsk:

I remember all that but the postage stamps...I think they were about 8 cents when I was growing up, in the 60s.

My dad had a Sunoco station, and wanted to offer S & H Green Stamps, but the Esso (!!!) station across the street already had them.

JaeByrd 12-15-2008 11:57 AM

I was really surprised at how close all of the groups in the 20-59 range are to each other.

Teen girls and "pastors wives" have "tatts" these days. That isn't even talking about the guys...

Boy are not only wearing their hair likes girls, with earrings, but the current trend is to wear "skinny leg girl pants". :tsk:

Half the time now when I see a group of "emo" kids together I can't tell which ones are girls and which are boys. The girls are so anorexic thin they both look the same and the boys dress like the girls. Even up close you can't tell because make up is "acceptable" on both in the current "be different from everyone else" style.
