Thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
-Psalm 138:2, KJV

Video: Can a Bible translation be perfect and inspired?

Can a translation of God’s word be perfect?

Man’s wisdom says a perfect translation from one language to another is impossible. The Bible shows us something completely different. Will you trust God or men?

  • Ge 42:18-20; cf Ge 42:23
    • Joseph spoke in Egyptian; his words were recorded in Scripture in Hebrew
  • Ezra 4:7
    • A Syrian letter
    • The “copy” follows Ezra 4:11 in Hebrew.
  • Ps 110:1; cf Lu 20:42-43
    • A Greek translation of a Hebrew Psalm.
  • Mark 5:41
    • Aramaic translated into Greek.
  • Acts 22
    • Paul spoke to them in Hebrew (Ac 22:2); Luke recorded it in Greek.
  • Acts 26:14
    • Paul recites to Agrippa what Jesus said to him in Hebrew, and it is recorded in Greek.
  • Matthew 27:46; Mark 15:34
    • From Hebrew OT text (Ps 22:1)
    • To Aramaic (in two spellings of the same word; Eli = Eloi)
    • Transliterated from Aramaic into Greek.
    • Translated right inside the verses from Aramaic into Greek.

2Ti 3:16; Ps 118:8

thank God for those who study and teach the Word of God as given in the KJV . Thank you for these lessons today/Charles

  2. Gord Berta says:

    Well done Brandon.

  3. Excellent presentation, I think you have hit the nail on the head. We “Must Trust God” I am proud of you young man, God Bless you.

  4. Barney Bryant says:

I have been saying this basic same thing for many years. Good job. Much better presentation than I could ever put together. Thanks, I will use this

  5. Joseph Redgate says:

This is the first time that I have seen anyone use this in defending the idea of a perfect translation. Absolutely wonderful! Thank yo for doing this, brother.

  6. Mike Lowry says:

I appreciate very much that through men and women like you the Holy Spirit is still working in the hearts and minds of born-again believers. The Holy Spirit bears witness with my spirit that I am a child of God, and will only bear witness to me and you in His inspired words to us, and in no other way–always in His inspired words. “Churchianity” today has clearly moved away from the inspired word of God, and in moving away from it they have supplanted it with unscriptural phraseology such as “my church”, “I go to church”, and “I am a member of ______________church”. The fact that the Holy Spirit bears witness with your spirit about a matter of importance to Jesus’ Church is refreshing to my spirit. God will continue to bless your efforts. Thank you for persevering. — Mike Lowry

    • Scott In AL says:

You are so right !!!! It’s so bad that I have to attend a Church that I don’t even truly believe. If Brother E. C. Moore was still alive, I would move to Pensacola.

  7. Dennis Wharton says:

You are a great defender of the KJV, you make James White look like a Novice!

  8. Scott In AL says:

    Great Job!!!

  9. Jacob Law says:

Your delivery is awesome; I was thinking in terms of translation and inspired they do come in conflict technically, I think you made excellent point for “inspired translation” ! To further consider the mystery of word of God to be more than a translation, but strictly inspired elevates the discussion to the true origin of this very pure word.
very thought provoking, thanks again for your work

  10. Good points – Good thoughts – Good reasoning. Over the years I have read all those verses that are mentioned in this video , but ,,, I never connected-the-dots. { I’m assuming this comes from the “Swordsearcher” Software program ? }

  11. johnny nl says:

    Very good teaching Sir !
I just love the way we’ve been “told”.
    This is really great, thanks.

  12. Barry says:

Problem: The words were not God’s Word until they were written.

    • Brandon says:

      I would call that a non-sequitur.

Did you even watch the video? Psalm 22:1 was written Scripture before it was quoted and re-written in Greek in Matthew 27:46.

There is a heavy emphasis on God’s written word in the Bible. In this video I demonstrated with simple cross-referencing how we can know that when Jesus said we are to live by every word of God we have it with written Scripture. That does not follow that God’s word isn’t his word until it’s written.

  13. Great job.

The same people who claim that a translation cannot be inspired are the same people that claim that nothing is inspired. Those who hold to the “superiority” of the Alexandrian texts do not even believe that those are inspired scripture–in other words only us AV believers and those TR men believe in the preservation of the inspired word of God.

If someone does not even believe that the Bible is preserved than of course they will deny the authority of the AV.

  14. rorynidaho says:

We are commanded to love mankind, but not to trust anyone except our Lord God Almighty!
“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. ” Jer 17:5-8

Jesus Himself would not commit (trust) Himself to any man because He knew what was in all men. see John 2:24,25

  15. Joseph Redgate says:

Do you have plans on making more videos soon? I look forward to them!

  16. tarawa1943 says:

    Outstanding presentation, blessings.

  17. Levy James says:

Question, how can one show divine inspiration of any holy book? Just because a book claims divine inspiration does that means it is divinely inspired?

  18. Forgiven says:

His Word and words are spirit, and they are life. I encourage you to read the Gospel of John the AV 1611.

  19. I have been looking through your website and have really been enjoying what I see here. Thank you for this site and the videos!

  20. Doug Wilson says:

Is this module for swordsearcher posted anywhere for download

    • Brandon says:

No, what you see here is just my personal book module with my own notes and topical studies. It’s not public.
