Default I am the LORD and my glory will I not give to another

I must admit that I've been rather upset about the whole election outcome lately; I know that God is in ultimate control of everything, but my patriotism caused me to lose, if not sight, than at least focus of some pertinent issues. I've been reading through Doc's "The Unknown Bible," and I got to chapter six just a little bit ago. Wow...boy did it bring some things back into perspective!!

Is. 40:25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.

Is. 41:21 Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.
Is. 41:22 Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.
Is. 41:23 Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.

Is. 41:24 Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you.

God's sarcasm is awesome! "Do good, or do evil, that we may be DISMAYED, and BEHOLD it together." Is God really dismayed? He doesn't GIVE A RIP!! And see how much importance God gives to man? "ye are of NOTHING, and your work of NOUGHT"!!

Is. 42:5 Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

Is. 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another

Is. 42:9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

Doc talks at length about probability and mathematics, contrasted with the uncertainty of modern man's scientific "accomplishments," specifically when it comes to evolution and the like.

What really was the kicker for me was the last words in the chapter:

"(man's combined efforts) will slow Him down about the way a pile of ants would slow down a DC-10 jet going from San Fransisco to Honolulu."

Ain't God GOOD!!
